Faith On Her Own Two … Paws?

This is a dog named Faith.
She was born missing one front leg and the other front leg was actually backwards. When I first saw pictures of her I couldn’t believe it. She was standing just like a person — on two legs!

Her owner, Jude Stringfellow, adopted the bipedal canine from a friend of her son’s that wasn’t certain if they could care properly for her. Since then she has become a world-wide phenomenon.

This is a video of her on Montel Williams, just look at how well and apparently easily Faith can get around. Simply Amazing!

Maine Unemployment Rate

I work as a freelance website designer. My clients are mostly small and medium businesses and my rates are well below the going rate of most other web designers. It’s my rates that tends to get the attention of everyone and it’s what keeps me busy each day. Everyone in Maine should be aware of the unemployment rate. It affects the entire economy and everyone who currently has a job qualifies for unemployment of some kind … Well at least those who fill out a W-2. ;)

You can see in the graphic below that our rate is not too bad since Albany County WY has one of the lowest rates in the nation. In sharp contrast to Baraga County MI which is extraordinarily high!

Hang in there Michigan!

Massive Land Slide Caught in Malaysia

Here’s the thing. I consider myself a bit of a risk-taker in many things. Trying to be freelance as a living would be one of them. But here this guy actually appears to be standing practically on top of a massive landslide next to the ocean! Perhaps this isn’t his first massive landslide and he’s so used to the horror of it all that he might equate this to a falling tree or minor lightning storm. In the meantime I was clenching my teeth awaiting what, to me, was the end of the camera-man’s life. But no he survived to show this craziness to the world. simply a mesmerizing series of landslides! Wow!

My New Favorite Film: Kick-Ass

Not suitable for kids!? Awesome …

I am not a film critic, and I’m certainly no writer — but I am a big fan of Mark Millar‘s work.

Not since The Matrix have I been this excited to see a film. It’s gritty, colorful, and filled with bad language and insane kill sequences. This film has cult following written all over it!

In some ways it’s filmed in a very amateurish fashion; it’s the sudden change from a laughable and funny looking super-hero wannabe’s lame life sequences to a couple hard-core, seasoned superheros that makes the film that much sweeter.

Definitely a must see on April 16th!

Again, these trailers aren’t for your kids to see or hear.

It’s all about the training.

Actual photo from the Fan Page -- feeling angry yet?

There could very possibly be a day when the useful, relevant and constantly updated site The Valley Voice that I created with my good friend George might one day have as many fans on Facebook as Shouting at Inanimate Objects has.

That right, there is a fan page for this and I actually clicked on it too. 2.2 million people in the world are fans of this insanity. I supposed there are at least that many towns in the world, and there is always one in each town right?

I could go on and list several other fan pages where millions of people have become fans of inane and absurd things, but I don’t care that much. I’d like to think that the fans on The Valley Voice‘s site are the cream of the crop. The most intelligent and learned folks on the planet. And to much of my dismay there seem to be very few. Not to worry though! It seems that if 12/21/2012 could mean the end for us all we know who the world will look to for the responsibly of carrying on our species.

We aren’t elitist or pretentious in any way — I mean how can we really compete when geniuses out there are creating such useful and informative fan pages.  It’s what I get for putting something worthwhile out there. What was I thinking!?
